Eben Black spent 10 years working at the major law firm DLA Piper after leaving the Sunday Times. At DLA he was Director in the public affairs department, dealing with matters of reputation, crisis and politics for clients. He worked closely alongside the firm's lawyers and has a unique understanding of how the law, politics and the media interconnect. He was a Partner at Newgate Communications and in his journalistic career was on the staff of the Sun and Today newspapers, and was Political Editor of the News of the World. He has wide contacts in the media and political spheres.
Louise Restell is a senior communications and campaigns professional with 20 years’ experience in Labour politics, public policy and consumer and regulatory issues, particularly in the legal sector. She led the campaign by consumer organisation Which? for reform of the legal market, resulting in the Legal Services Act 2007, and has an in-depth understanding of its impact on both the profession and the consumer. She also led campaigns to regulate estate agents and claims management companies and to reform banking services in Northern Ireland. She has experience of managing Public Affairs both as a consultant and in house, including leading the development and implementation of government and parliamentary advocacy, policy development, public campaigning, corporate social responsibility, stakeholder engagement and PR.
